Over the years, many have been converted to BBQ sauce instead of tomato and we even put it on pizza as its saucy base. So we created our own version of Keto Tomato Ketchup Sauce.
As an extension to that, we’ve even use smokey BBQ sauce. Anyway, back to tomato ketchup/sauce.
When we first began our keto journey, we basically used no condiments at all due to the large amount of added sugar and artificial sweeteners, colours and preservatives found in nearly all sauces and condiments.
That was until I began to research what makes a good tomato sauce.
Keto Tomato Ketchup Sauce For Variety
In the first two months of keto, I felt like giving in so many times because I found the foods boring and we were basically living on meat, eggs and cheese.
Eventually, we began making much more complex recipes and so many different condiments which changed my mindset about the keto lifestyle.
I can say that we have both tried so many different diets, fads and lifestyles and none of them has ever been as sustainable as I find the keto lifestyle to be. Ahhhhh, back to the sauce.
Every time I felt like I couldn’t eat keto anymore, I develop a new recipe that brings me back. This time, it was tomato ketchup sauce.
Sugar Free Keto Tomato Ketchup Sauce
I have tasted many versions of tomato ketchup sauce without added sugars and many have been good but many have been bad.
This keto-friendly tomato ketchup sauce is probably one of the easiest and most basic of the low carb tomato ketchup sauces, however, it is so rich, creamy, tart and sweet, exactly how a ketchup or sauce should be.
It can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes and does not require cooking. It is great on its own but definitely has the potential to spice things up and add whatever spices you like.

If you don’t care much about the depth of colour of your ketchup sauce than adding the oil is a great way to increase your fat macros.
Otherwise, just leave it out and serve it as a low carb tomato ketchup sauce. Hope you like this Keto Tomato Ketchup Sauce as much as we do.
Keto Tomato Ketchup Sauce
Ingredients
- 400 grams Tomatoes canned, diced
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tsp Erythritol
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Xanthan Gum
- 10 drops Stevia Liquid
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil Optional
Instructions
- Place all the dry ingredients (erythritol, garlic and onion powders, salt, pepper and xanthan gum into a nutribullet -style machine or mini food processor and process until finely ground and combined. You could use a mortar and pestle for this step as well.
- Add all the remaining wet ingredients and continue processing until thoroughly combined. You could use an emersion (stick) blender for this step too.
- Place the final product into a sauce container or whatever kind of jar or container you like and place it in the fridge for a few hours before serving.
- Stores for 7-10 days in the fridge.
